Well, putting up the message board gave me fits. I tried opening it with AOL's
browser, and the popup windows killed me. What do I mean? Well, I signed on to
the page, clicked the Message board link, read one message, posted a reply, and closed the
browser. I then had 9!! popup
windows open on my desktop. So, I decided to get rid of the popup windows once and
for all...so, the site has been moved. From now on out, the best place to view this
page will be at http://www.jazzlandfan.com.
Check it out, and let me know. (I also disabled the POST MESSAGE button on
the message board here, so that I can research moving the messages from here to
there...the message board there works fine).

Welp, I made a couple of quick adjustments. I got a note from someone
confirming that the picture of the swing ride *is* the Chance Aviator, so I fixed that.
I also fixed a typo on the page with the picture of it. Lastly, I finally got
my message board up and running. So, let's get some discussion started, but let's
keep it clean (this is a family board). Also, I'm looking into getting this page
hosted somewhere else, so the name may be changing...but the upside is that those annoying
popup windows will go away. I'll keep you posted.

Jeez, I've got to be the biggest procrastinator around. Anyway, I got out this
weekend and took some pictures, and I've got quite a few to share with you. Also,
when I finally got back from Kuwait (in fact, the day I got back), I purchased my season
pass. There's some info about the season passes on the park info page, including a
look at what the voucher looks like. Lastly, just to pass on some information:
Every year in New Orleans at Christmastime, there is a very big celebration called
"Caroling Under the Stars." This year, it's going to be on the Jazzland
grounds. What this means is that this coming Sunday, Dec 12, will be the first
opportunity the general public will have to get a look at the layout of the park, and a
close up look at the rides. I'll be out there, camera in hand to get some pix, and
hopefully, I'll get them posted early next week. If you'd like more information
about the event, you can get it by calling (504) 240-2250, or by Clicking

So, have you been wondering where I've been? Well, I have been seriously busy
lately. Unfortunately, it's not with the site. My "real" job is
working for the Air Force Reserve, and for the last several days, I've been busy getting
ready to go on a Temporary Assignment overseas. This means that I won't be doing any
updates until early November. I took a few pictures last week, but when I got them
developed, it wasn't worth the time to get them scanned. The only thing that was new
was a picture of the top of the Inverter. On a positive note, the president of
Jazzland was on the "Andre" show on the radio a week or so ago, and had some
interesting information. First and formost was that season passes are scheduled to
be going on sale in November at a local retailer. The park's basic schedule will be
from March to October, but they may be open on Halloween and for Christmas (I wonder about
Mardi Gras). Anyway, I'm off to southwest Asia, so I'll be back updating as soon as
possible.

Sorry it's been so long since my last update, but I've been a bit lazy. I'll
try and get them posted more frequently. Posted some new articles in News
and Rumors (one of them isn't technically about Jazzland, but it is about someone trying
to cash in on the revitalization of the area). Also, the CCI Woodie now has a
name. For more information, check the article titled "Reaching the
Top." Posted some pictures from August in the photo gallery.

Updated the Park Info Page
(26 July 99)
Well, after several months of delaying, I've finally gotten around to creating this
web page. It's still in it's early stages, so please bear with me. The Photo
gallery is currently under construction, as the weather of late hasn't been very
cooperative. As soon as I get some good weather, I'll get those pictures taken and
posted.
If you would like to submit anything to this page, simply
email me at mporche@earthlink.net, and I'll see
what you've got. :)
This page has been accessed times since 8 Dec 99.
